I bring to Target Team experience both as an entrepreneur and as an investor in various stages and industries. Experiencing success and failure, as well as analyzing both, is key in being a good partner to companies. I try to invest in businesses and with people I am passionate about and believe in. I am a true workaholic- I love what I do. I find myself immersed in business endeavors around the clock, even when it's just my mind that's working.
When selecting a company to work with, I look for large addressable markets with liquidity, a real pinpointed need, basic evidence to support the product's market fit. In terms of company leaders, I look for a great team; hustlers, goal oriented, no ego, hard working with doming expertise and a track record of excellence (not necessarily in venture start-ups). Finally, I want to see that they have long term potential to become an independent company, profitable and publicly traded.
For me, a great CEO must be hungry, a team player, and KPI driven, but with a strategic view of the company. He must understand that the three roles of the CEO are: define strategy, obtain resources and hire, dismiss and mentor senior management. Finally, he must know his buns intimately and be passionate about it. My advice to any CEO would be this: be honest. Tell me the bad and the good and the plan to change the first into the second.
Israel has one of the highest concentrations of innovation and innovators in the world. Particularly, Israeli expertise is applicable in solving some of the world's biggest problems: transportation, agriculture and food supply, big data and cyber security. As a small country, Israel has no local market and Israeli companies are global from day one. However, Israeli entrepreneurs still need to learn how to scale operationally, build management teams and have a truly long term view of businesses.
Target Global can act as a bridge, helping German and European companies innovate and think more on a global level. We can help them become more techproduct oriented on one hand, and bring German operational excellence and business savvy to Israeli start-ups.
We also provide expertise and networking opportunities to both companies and investors, providing them with the point of view of an active market participant.
